I am on the register for the Telephone Preference Society but was phoned today at 9.50 am, reportedly from a health centre, and asked by an Indian lady (who I had trouble understanding) about my health. I passed it to my wife and when my wife mentioned that she received hospital treatment the lady disappeared. I phoned 1471 to get the number and a man answered saying that it was a Health Awareness Centre (or something like that) and they were doing a nationwide health survey. I said that I wasn't interested and rang off.

I got a call from this no. today even though I Have registered with TPS. When I asked for name of organisation it sounded like 'Health and Wellness Centre'. I was then asked if I had any joint aches and pains. I replied No thanks and hung up.

My mother received this call, and I happened to be able to listen in at the time. A similar story; he said he was from The Wellness Centre, with a reasonably clear Indian accent. He then asked her if she had joint pain, stiffness, arthritis... to which the answer was no. My mother is in her sixties but goes to the gym three times a week and sounds, on the phone, as if she's about sixteen. He asked how old she was, and she told him. He said, 'oh, I thought you might only have been fifty'... which annoyed my mum, as she's been sounding fifteen since she was twenty-five (before that she sounded twelve). Anyway, after rambling on about how vitamins are good for you, and how anti-oxidents are good for you (incidentally, they're not: that's a myth) he finally got round to trying to sell her this dietary suppliment made from pommegranate skins for 'only £15 a month' I think he said. My mother gave him a quick lesson on UK pension provision and the cost of living here, which he endured politely. Then she asked him why he was phoning her at all, given that she's registered with the TPS. He asked for her 'registration number', and insisted that anyone on it would have a number to give them. I don't know the full ins and outs of the TPS, but that hardly seems plausible. He certainly didn't give up and go away, though; she had to hang up on him, saying she would be late for the gym.

I received a call from them at 17.25 yesterday. The caller was an man with an Indian accent, he talked very quickly and I could not understand what he was talking about half of the time! Some of the bits I heard were: women going through the menopause lose blood, I should walk barefoot every morning on some grass whilst drinking tepid water !?? He kept calling me "dear" and telling me to "make a note of this" Finally he asked if I ate fruit and vegetables and wanted to know which fruits. Even though I had not mentioned pomegranites (I do not like them) he started listing the many, many, many many! advantages of eating them. He said the most beneficial part of the fruit was the skin but I should on no account eat the skin as it was very hard and undigestible. However, they made a tablet which contained the dried and ground skin and if I took one a day.... then he listed all the benefits again! It almost sounded that I would become immortal if I took their product! Then the sole purpose of the call emerged: they normally retail at £45 for 30 tablets (I never knew fruit was so expensive!!) but I could have 30 for £15 (how kind!) at this point I hung up. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some damp cold grass beckoning!

I have had 5 calls from this number today - no-one speaks when I pick up. After the second one I rang back and was told (by an indian speaking woman that I couldn't understand terribly well) that they were doing a health survey, I told her I wasn't interested and it takes me a long time to get to the phone as I am disabled and she said she would take me off the list. I have just rang back again after the 5th call and reminded her she was going to take my number off the list, asked what they were selling and she told me health supplements, but wouldn't tell me the name of the company. Is there nowhere to report these people to? this is harrassment......

Called offering to sell my elderly nan drugs for her arthritis, first quoting £40, then offering to sell one pill for £1.40. They then called non stop, blocking her answer machine with messages demanding her card details.

I didn't bother to talk to the person(female- oriental sounding). I just left the phone off the hook for 5 minutes.

My wife answered a call from this number today. It went on and on and she is not the type to deal with such calls in a very effective way. Eventually, in desperation she said she must go as she had a caller at the door. The caller said she was a liar - at which stage she did put the phone down! We are registered with the Telephone Preference Service which should mean we do not get such calls.

This number -- 02086 190746 -- called just after midday while we were out. No message was left but I obtained the number using 1471. I give it a pest rating of 1 at present because I hate it when people can't be bothered to leave a message, however brief. If I receive further calls I will make another report.

I've been doing a little research as I've now had at least a dozen calls in a little over a week from the pest number, but they also use 02086190070 and 02086191234. I've just sent this email to their complaints email address (complaints@sandawellbeing.com) "Telephone number 01234 567890 - obviously not my real one for this forum!I am receiving telephone calls on my ex-directory telephone number which is registered with the Telephone Preference Service on a recurrent basis from a number which is used by your company or associate business.I do not know how you came to be in possession of my ex-directory telephone number which is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but upon returning one of your previous calls which I identified from my call logger, I requested that my details be removed from your database. As the calls have continued, this has clearly not been done.I am sure you are well aware that you that you are breaking the law insofar as my ex-directory telephone number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service and in addition you do not have my permission to hold my details in your records so YOU ARE IN BREACH OF THE DATA PROTECTION ACT and THE PRIVACY AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS REGULATIONS.I therefore demand that you remove my telephone number stated above from your records immediately, along with any details connected to it, as failure to do so will result in any appropriate action that I consider necessary being taken against your company and / or associate businesses. You clearly have my ex-directory telephone number which is registered with the Telephone Preference Service as you are using it, but I have no intentions of providing you with my name and address as you should be able to locate all such details yourself when deleting my ex-directory telephone number from your records." I know it's a bit repetitive, but the "ex-directory telephone number which is registered with the Telephone Preference Service" bits I typed in bold and underlined, so it looked really good! Feel free to cut and paste the same letter to them if they keep bothering you. If they don't stop, I am going to complain to Advertising Standards Authority, TPS, Information Commissioner's Office, Trading Standards and a couple of others that I will have thought of by then, if the need arises. Meanwhile, to save you looking it up for yourself, here are details of the company:http://www.sandawellness.com/s.../Sanda Wellbeing Ltd is VAT registered and our number is: GB 925 6675 90The full name of our company is Sanda Wellbeing LtdWe are registered in England and Wales under registration number 06377623Our address is 3, Montpelier Avenue, Bexley, Kent, DA5 3APYou can contact us via email on complaints@sandawellbeing.comHave fun!!!

I have been getting these calls for several months. Each time I ask to be removed from the database and the calls stop for a while before they get going again. On one occasion, in answer to my request to be taken off the lists, I was told that I would be called 'all day every day'. I reported the calls online to TPS and chose the nature of call option 'market' research from the various possibilities given. This choise was a mistake as, in response, I got an automated reply from TPS stating that as the purpose of the call was market research they could not pursue the company involved.I was not prepared to leave the matter there and 'phoned TPS, explaining that, although the representative initially purported to be engaged in market research, their true business is pressure selling. TPS took the details and will contact the company to ensure that my number has been removed from their database and will also record the complaint. They said that if enough complaints are received then legal action will be taken against Sanda Well. I urge everyone to COMPLAIN TO TPS, EITHER BY PHONE OR IF ON LINE, CHOOSING THE COLD CALLING SALES OPTION. With enough recorded complaints we will stop these persistent parasites.

Not a pest? If this is your number and it isn't used for making unwanted calls, then tick this box to log it as a non-telepest number. Please note that we may need to confirm this before updating the site to reflect this, particularly if we have multiple reports of unsolicited calls from it.
If you know the name of the organisation which uses this number, then enter it here: Only fill this in if you absolutely, 100% certain, know the real name of the organisation that is calling you. Don't guess, or put pointless words like "dunno" or "they didn't say". If it's an organisation falsely claiming to be calling on behalf of another one then just put who it really is, not who they claim to be. The point of this field is to help other people identify this telepest. If you're filing a pest report because you need help identifying it yourself, then leave it blank so that it gets logged as an unidentified telepest caller
Important! Telepest.co.uk only lists telephone numbers belonging to companies and organisations. Residential numbers and personal mobile numbers are not included in our database. If you are being pestered or harrassed from a residential number, then please contact your telephony operator for advice.
